The winter months provided us with the opportunity to plan for another successful season at the Bridgeton Community Garden. While the plants rested, our Food Justice team was busy behind the scenes—carefully selecting crops, mapping out our growing timeline, and organizing the key events that will shape our year, including our beloved annual Día de los Muertos celebration.
This season, we are excited to welcome community members back into the garden with a variety of opportunities to get involved. From hands-on volunteer days to workshops and youth programs, there’s something for everyone.

Volunteer Opportunities
Starting in May, we’ll be hosting twice-monthly volunteer workdays—one Saturday and one Sunday each month through October. These events are a great way to get your hands in the soil, meet others in the community, and contribute to a space that nourishes both people and the planet. All workdays run from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at 80 Church Street in Bridgeton, NJ.
May: Saturday 10th
June: Saturday 14th and Sunday 29th
July: Saturday 12th and Sunday 20th
August: Saturday 9th and Sunday 24th
September: Saturday 6th and Sunday 21st
October: Saturday 4th

Weekly Market Days
We’re excited to bring back our Weekly Market Days, held every Wednesday from 5:00–7:00 PM at 80 Church Street in Bridgeton, NJ. Starting June 25th, stop by for fresh, local produce grown right here in the garden.
Workshops to Watch For
We’ve also planned a few seasonal workshops for those interested in learning more:
Mastering the Art of Tomato Cultivation at 66 Atlantic Street, Bridgeton, NJ.
Natural Dye Workshop – October 16th (Details TBD)

Youth Internship Program
Our 8-week Summer Youth Internship Program is currently accepting applications! Open to youth ages 15–19, this program offers hands-on experience in food justice, gardening, and community building.
Application Deadline: May 2nd
Program Dates: July 8 – August 27
Schedule: Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week
Despite the dormancy of the colder months, the garden is once again full of potential. We hope you’ll join us this season—whether by volunteering, learning, or growing alongside us.
